NetSAP DC is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Board!

Board members are truly the heart of the organization and we hope you will consider taking on a leadership role in creating, planning and developing NetSAP’s programs and events. We are accepting board member applications until Friday, October 21. Elections will be from Monday, October 24 to November 8. More information about open positions is listed below. President

  • Helps manage all aspects of the organization
  • Organizes and runs board meetings
  • Represents NetSAP at events and in the community
  • Final approval of event, budget, issues, etc.

Vice President

  • Oversees pillars to ensure NetSAP guidelines are met and significant programming is created
    • Takes on responsibilities of unfilled positions when necessary
  • Assists in collaboration between other committees/events/board
  • Organizes and runs board meetings in the President’s absence
    • Takes and distributes minutes from all board meetings
  • Represents NetSAP at events and in the community

Director of Finance/Treasurer

  • Oversees finances of the organization
  • Creates organization budget
  • Approves event budgets
  • Completes and submits annual tax documents
  • Oversees process for maintaining not-for-profit status for organization
  • Manages and maintains insurance policy for organization
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Director of Marketing

  • Writes and distributes newsletter
  • Manages and updates all social media sites
  • Develops strategies for widening market and increasing outreach
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Director of Membership- Recruitment

  • Manages member relations and outreach; drive strategy for increasing membership base
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events; especially Third Thursday
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings

Director of Membership- Member Relations

  • Manages membership list
  • Plans and manages member-only events
  • Oversees members-only listserv/FaceBook group
  • Develops additional benefits including special member discounts, raffles and giveaways.
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Director of Sponsorship

  • Develops strategies for gaining and retaining sponsors
  • Manages and updates sponsorship packet
  • Develops and manages relationship with sponsors
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Director of Technology/Webmaster

  • Manages and maintains website
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Historian

  • Takes pictures at events
  • Shares pictures on NetSAP social media sites
  • Documents NetSAP events
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

National Liaison

  • Develops and manages relationship with national chapter and local chapters
  • Maintains handbook
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events when possible

Director of Special Events

  • Creates and run NetSAP DC flagship events including Third Thursday
  • Creates and runs major events
  • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Chief advisor on all pillar programming and events
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP events

Community Service Director

  • Organizes service events every other month
    • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Researches and creates relationship with yearly charity beneficiary
  • Develops strategies and programs targeted at helping our community
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP’s other events when possible

Professional Development Director

  • Creates and runs 2-3 NetSAP DC professional development events per a year
    • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Develops strategies and programs targeted at assisting member professional development
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP’s other events when possible

Cultural Awareness Director

  • Creates and runs 2-3 NetSAP DC cultural events per a year
    • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Develops strategies and programs targeted at maintaining our culture
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP’s other events when possible

Political Awareness Director

  • Creates and runs 2-3 NetSAP DC political awareness events per a year
    • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Develops strategies and programs targeted at maintaining south asian involvement in politics
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP’s other events when possible

Athletics Director

  • Develops strategies and programs targeted at encouraging fitness and teamwork
  • Creates and runs 2-3 NetSAP DC athletics events per a year
    • Attends and manages all aspects of planned events
  • Attends and actively participates in board meetings
  • Attends and actively participates in NetSAP’s other events when possible
